Model Alicia Raut's comeback
Model Alicia Raut resumes catwalking after two years of an abusive marriage.Remember Alicia Raut? The same leggy lass who created quite a stir with music videos like Meri beri ke ber mat todo and Ek ankh maroon some years ago? The head-turner returns to scorch the ramp after two years, "if not with a bang, at least in an all-new avtaar," chuckles Alicia, flaunting her short crop with blonde streaks.
However, behind her ready smile lies a tale of hurt and pain. The half-Indian , half-Russian beauty married Alexander Yanovsky, a Russian economist , and relocated to Moscow two years ago. Soon after, she became a victim of domestic violence. "I was happy to leave behind everything for the person and make a fresh start, but it just wasn't meant to be," says Alicia.
Finally, a determined Alicia returned to Mumbai with son, Mark. And she has since been getting into the act. "Even after modelling for eight years, I had butterflies in my stomach for at least the first three shows that I did upon returning," she says candidly .
One of the most important things she needed to be back as a catwalker was to get back in shape. "I have a very healthy appetite. But, weight was never an issue, although I do my bit of workout. After childbirth I think I lost all my excess weight within a month, but that's also because a baby makes you run around so much."
While Alicia would love to do music videos and films, it's nutrition and fitness that interest her most. "I plan to study further in the area of nutrition and fitness as well as work in the field. For the time being, however, I'm happy just modelling and spending time with my child," she says.
